My friend Deb said I should update though, and so here I am. 2013 is progressing along much the same path as 2012, except I don't have the Olympics to look forward to. Not that I was particularly looking forward to the Olympics, but I did really enjoy watching them, and so from the comfy and not-possible-to-prove-otherwise seat of January 2013 I can safely claim to have been really looking forward to them this time last year. Everyone is a year older than this time last year, which I understand is perfectly normal. When you get to my age, a year is kind of a big deal, in relation to things you want to get done. I want to do loads of exciting stuff, professionally and metaphorically, but I am another year down without really having accomplished anything. Except for that incident with the inflatable penguin, the large slab of Tesco uncooked puff pastry and a copy of Norman Mailers 'American Life'. Yikes, won't forget that in a hurry.
Of course, I just made up those three unrelated items, and I did nothing in 2012 that involved any of those things in the same place. I was photographed with a large inflatable penguin once though, and I have read the Mailer book, and am lead to believe that Tesco Puff is the best mass produced pastry-based baking product on the market. So.
Hey, I reckon Fifth Post might be my best yet. I am a fan of Four, but Five might pip it, thusly mirroring the Fast and Furious movies. One - a good solid start. 2 - a crazy, entertaining action post. 3 - a bit of a dip in quality but a still a solid entry with some flashes of brilliance. 4 - back to the best, cracking dialogue and action - but 5. Wow. 5 really takes everything you know about blog posts to a whole new level of insanity. I know, lets all have a vote and you can let me know.
Incidentally, I don't feel like I have to defend my love of the Fast and Furious movies. If you disagree you are, fundamentally, dead inside.
